Story

I am getting back in the ring again to support the NSW Police Legacy as part of their Police Legacy Boxing Competition for 2017.
In 2014 I launched Police Legacy Boxing with Superintendent Christopher Schilt and Chris has been a stand-up guy when it comes to helping all the boxers to be the best they can be and doing the best for Police Legacy.
In 2015, I jumped in the ring to have a fair crack with my old mate ex WBC Danny Green, lucky for me I went the distance but I did end up with a couple of sore ribs.
Last year I went up against Superintendent Tony Crandell, Tony flew the flag for diversity and is a really strong guy, physically very strong, robust and extraordinarily fit. He nearly took my head off a few times. Fortunately, I won that one.
This year I am up against Superintendent Chris Craner who has been billed as the Police Commissioners bodyguard. I know he’s got a slight height advantage, reach advantage and definitely an age advantage and if it wasn’t for him getting a broken nose just before last years event he would have fought last year. I hear that he’s been wanting to jump in to the 6x6 to fight me for a while, all I can say is I respect youth, height, weight and reach.
I’ve been training pretty hard with Garth Wood and hope to do my best against Superintendent Craner. I’m getting a feeling that the Commissioner Mick Fuller wants to make sure there’s a square up and that he wants the Police to win this bout as I’m sure he wasn’t all that happy with the outcome last year when he was sitting front and centre at the event last year.
North Sydney Leagues is my favourite place to take part in the boxing event, it’s a great atmosphere and set up and the NSW Police Legacy and the PCYC are an inspiration to me and I want to help them raise the funds they need to make a difference.

The Trustee For NSW Police Legacy

NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. Established in 1987 it was initially founded to support the bereaved families following the loss of their loved one. Now, our support extends to include police officers and their families experiencing challenging times in their lives. Our police family has grown to include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing misfortune that require extra support. Our committment is to build on the care and support of serving and retired police officers and their families during times of tragedy and need with financial assistance, emotional support and networking opportunities so they are never forgotten. http://www.policelegacynsw.org.au/
